Zehao Liu
Zehao Liu is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Finance, Renmin University of China, and serves as the Deputy Director of the Monetary Finance Department. He is a recipient of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Grant for Outstanding Young Scientists (Category B, formerly known as the Excellent Young Scientists Fund), and is a member of the Finance Theory Group. Additionally, he serves as the Deputy Director of the Institute of China Financial Markets and Policies at Renmin University of China.
He earned his Ph.D. from the Department of Finance at the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, and his Bachelor's degree from the Dual-Degree Experimental Class in Finance and Mathematics at Renmin University of China, where he was awarded the Wu Yuzhang Scholarship, the highest student honor at the university. During his doctoral studies, he participated in a joint training program at the Yale School of Management. His primary research interests encompass monetary banking, financial intermediation, financial crises, and China's economic and financial issues.
His research has been published in top-tier international and domestic journals, including Journal of Economic Theory (2 papers), Theoretical Economics, Economic Theory, Journal of Financial Intermediation, China Economic Review, Economic Research Journal (Jingji Yanjiu), Journal of Financial Research (Jinrong Yanjiu, 3 papers), and China Economic Quarterly (Jingjixue Jikan). He has presided over an NSFC Grant for Young Scientists (Category C, formerly the Youth Project), which was evaluated as "Exceptionally Excellent" upon its completion.
He has received numerous honors and awards, including the 2nd Sun Yefang Financial Innovation Award, the Annual Outstanding Paper Award from the Journal of Financial Research (twice), the Outstanding Article Award from International Financial Research, the Outstanding Paper Award from the China Finance Society, the Teaching Pacesetter Award at Renmin University of China, the Outstanding Guidance Award for Extracurricular Undergraduate Teaching, and the Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award.
