Junhui Cai

Jeff Cai is the Patricia and George Scharpf Family Assistant Professor in Real Estate Information Technology, Analytics, and Operations Department at the University of Notre Dame - Mendoza College of Business. His research lies in the intersection of statistical learning and data-driven decision-making. A significant thrust of his research is on network analysis, model selection, and post-selection inference with interdisciplinary research in economics, finance, and real estate. Particularly, by constructing interfirm networks, such as the dynamic equity investment network of all 40 million firms in China, he studies the network effect on firms' behaviors, decision-making, asset returns, as well as policy implementation. He received his Ph.D. in statistics from the Wharton School where he has been teaching a modern data mining course for which he won the excellence teaching award.
