Daniel Xu is Associate Professor of Economics at Duke University. He is a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Professor Xu received his Ph.D. in economics from Penn State University in 2007, his M.A. in economics from SUNY Stony Brook in 2002 and his B.A. in economics from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in 1999. Before coming to Duke he was an assistant professor for four years at New York University. Professor Xu's research focuses on industrial organization and trade research.
